Information
Our Lady of Assumption School is
run at the local level by the Parish Education Committee (PEC). The
PEC is a committee set up by the Board of Directors of the Catholic
Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA).
The
PEC is headed by our Pastor, Father Ron Thompson. There
are seven lay members on the Committee: five are elected and
two are appointed by the Pastor.
The PEC obtains its authority from
the CISVA Board of Directors and is required to carry out the policies
and procedures as set by the Board. The Pastor and PEC
work together to ensure that the day to day operations of the School
meet these requirements.
PEC members are elected each May for a two-year term. Rules
regarding the running of the elections are set by the CISVA. Information
regarding election procedures, as well as eligibility to run and
to vote, may be obtained from the School Office or the PEC Chair.

The PEC meets the third Tuesday of each month, with some variation
for school and stat holidays. Meetings are held at 7pm in the Staff
Room.
Parents are welcome to attend and observe the meetings. Anyone wishing
to speak at the meetings must submit a written request at least 7 days
in advance of the meeting date. Written submissions to the PEC are
welcome at anytime and should be addressed to the Chair.
