Parish Education Committee
PEC
Information
Our Lady of Assumption School is run at the local level by the Parish Education Committee (PEC). The PEC is a committee set up by the Board of Directors of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA).
The PEC is headed by our Pastor, Father Ron Thompson. There are seven lay members on the Committee: five are elected and two are appointed by the Pastor.
The PEC obtains its authority from the CISVA Board of Directors and is required to carry out the policies and procedures as set by the Board. The Pastor and PEC work together to ensure that the day to day operations of the School meet these requirements.
PEC members are elected each May for a two year term. Rules regarding the running of the elections are set by the CISVA. Information regarding election procedures, as well as eligibility to run and to vote, may be obtained from the School Office or the PEC Chair.
